New - Ellsworth Youth Ambassador Program

The Ellsworth Community Youth Ambassador program is dedicated to educating and inspiring young people about volunteerism and community involvement. Our goal is to develop compassionate leaders who affect change in the community.

The Ellsworth Community Youth Ambassador Program is for a boy and a girl to act as a community involved person who wants to utilize this program as way to learn about civic organizations, increase their community leadership skills and do good things for the community they live in.

The candidates will be a Junior / Senior in the Ellsworth School District for the 2011 school year. They will complete an application that asks them what type of school programs they are active in such as sports, academic programs and other youth programs such as Scouts, or 4-H. We ask this to help us determine their current levels of activity within their own peer programs which will help them with this program. They must also be able to maintain a ‘B’ or higher grade average. We also will be asking each candidate to write an essay about a community project they would like to see in Ellsworth and how they would help implement this program. This program will become part of the Chamber Events.

This is an exciting program for the Ellsworth Chamber and the community because we will be able to achieve more goals for the community while helping a young adult become prepared to be successful with their goals as adults. Serving communities within civic and other organizations will successfully reward participants with self confidence, friends and positive experiences to grow with.
