Cheese Curd Festival Proceeds Distributed to Local Non-Profits

The chamber's annual Cheese Curd Festival is about more than just fun and cheese curds. Proceeds from the annual event fund not only community endeavors through the Chamber, but help local non-profit organizations in their good works, too!

This year three organizations earned a share of the festival proceeds through their volunteers' efforts. Individuals volunteered their time on behalf of the Ellsworth Community School District Foundation, Ellsworth Lions Club and St. Croix Animal Friends. Positions filled by volunteers ranged from staffing the festival's new Cheese Curd Central, staffing the Corks & Kegs Beer, Wine and Cider tasting event, managing cleaning and maintenance throughout the park during the festival and set-up and tear-down duties. For hours worked, volunteers earned credits which were then donated back to their organizations in the form of dollars!

Over $4,000 was gifted to these three non-profit organizations this year. As the Festival continues to grow, the Cheese Curd Festival Committee hopes to see the amount given to these groups grow, and the number of non-profits benefiting expand, too. Local non-profits interested in earning funds through the Cheese Curd Festival volunteer program are encouraged to contact the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce here.

Congratulations to the recipients and thank you to you and your volunteers for supporting the Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival!
