Our area employers face a wide array of workforce challenges. From a shortage of workers, to our proximity to the Twin Cities (and the abundance of career opportunities available there), our business community must not only be creative talent-recruiters, but creative talent-retainers, too.
That’s why when there's an initiative that combines attracting and retaining millennials, a generation that will make up a majority of the nation’s labor pool within five years, and building tomorrow’s workforce through early childhood education, we want our members to know about it!
Join us as Tom Holland, St. Croix United Way, shares about the “Family Friendly Workplace” certification program. Businesses can become certified as "family friendly" based on current in-house practices such as health care coverage, flexible work schedules, paid leave options, and more. Proceeds are then invested back into the community in the form of early childhood education projects. It’s a win-win solution with both short and long term benefits!
Demographics are not working to our advantage these days. For our local economy to grow, employers, communities, and government must find creative ways to educate, attract, and retain workers. The "Family Friendly Workplace" certification is growing in popularity and we know you won't want your business left behind!
