VOLUNTEER: Literacy Tutor
Transform our community by empowering adults through literacy. Become a volunteer Literacy Tutor with just a one-hour commitement per week. No experience needed; training is provided. Persons of all backgrounds are encouraged to volunteer. Some Spanish is helpful.
One in seven adults in Wisconsin are unable to live up to their ultimate potential due to low-literacy. Without the ability to read, many are denied the ability to learn and the opportunity to identify, cultivate and leverage their talents.
Literacy can be life-changing and you can play an important role in building sustainable communities of literacy in Wisconsin.
About West CAP: West CAP, (the West Central Wisconsin Community Action Agency, Inc.) is one of over 16 Community Action agencies in Wisconsin, and one of over 1,000 across the country, working to end poverty. The West CAP team of nearly 70 staff strives to provide resources in the areas such as; weatherization, adult education, housing assistance and food access. West CAP’s literacy program remains a community pillar of economic and educational support.
