"Building a Better Community"
The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce serves the needs of its membership by working to promote the entire Ellsworth community, whether it be economic, industrial, professional, cultural, educational or civic in nature.
A Message from the President
On behalf of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, welcome to our beautiful and rural region. The charm of the area is matched only by the warmth and friendliness of its people.
Our community is located in the geographical center of Pierce County and is proud to serve as the County Seat. Our County Courthouse built in 1905 is modeled after the state capital in Madison and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Ellsworth was named after Civil War Colonel, Elmer E. Ellsworth, platted in 1962 and incorporated under Wisconsin laws in 1887; his likeness symbolizes the strength of our striving community. Ellsworth is part of the metropolitan area, just 30 miles from the Twin Cities with the intersection of 4 major highways, namely Hwy 10, 63, 65 & 72. Governor Anthony S. Earl proclaimed Ellsworth the Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin in 1984. Ellsworth is a host of many celebrations and festivals each year including the annual Cheese Curd Festival the last full weekend in June showcasing cheese curds that are produced here at the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery, the annual Polka Fest and Old Car Club Show in July, the annual Pierce County Fair in August, along with several other community events including a new Fermentation Fest to be held in the fall. The Chamber is proud to promote events that provide networking opportunities for business and individuals, members can volunteer and enhance their business and community. Joining the Chamber makes good business sense for you; the Chamber is here to assist our members. Let’s get excited about this community’ growth and work together to build a better community. Exciting things are happening in the area. Local Governments strive to keep taxes reasonable and work with the Chamber to nature a business friendly atmosphere. Ellsworth's great location is near many recreational options, including the Mississippi and the St. Croix rivers, state and local parks, hiking trails and golf courses. Ellsworth is the hub of Pierce County's 210 miles of snowmobile trails. Several nearby streams and rivers provide outstanding trout fishing. Ellsworth features two parks; Summit Park, home of the Ellsworth Hubber’s Baseball Team and Bob Young Ballfield and the East End Park located on Hwy 10 which is a favorite spot for tourists and motorists passing thru Ellsworth. Ellsworth is indeed a wonderful place to live and work. We welcome you to our community. Sincerely, Peggy A.
