Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence (“Turningpoint”) announces its first EMPOWERED Women’s Half-Marathon, Women’s 5k, and Girls’ One-Mile races on Saturday, September 29, 2018. The Empowered Women’s Half-Marathon race will begin at Weitkamp Park in Hudson and finish at Belle Vinez in River Falls. The Women’s 5k and Girls’ One-Mile will take place at Belle Vinez.
All proceeds from the races will support Turningpoint’s crisis services and related programs for victims of violence and their families in Pierce and St. Croix Counties of Wisconsin.
The EMPOWERED Women’s and Girls’ events are open and dedicated to all individuals who identify as female, particularly the one in three women who are victims/survivors of violence in our communities. All finishers will receive a technical t-shirt and finisher medallion. Men are welcome to participate in the events, however Turningpoint will not offer men’s cut T-shirts, men’s overall awards, or any men’s age group awards.
