About EllsworthWith a population of 3,284, Ellsworth is located in the geographical center of Pierce County and is proud to serve as the county seat. Four major highways -- US Highway 10 and State Highway 65, 63, and 72 -- intersect at Ellsworth. At each entry point to the village stands a lighted sign proudly bearing the image of Colonel Elmer Ephraim Ellsworth, a friend of President Lincoln and a Civil War hero. In 1984, Ellsworth was proclaimed the Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin by Governor Anthony S. Earl. We proudly celebrate this honor with our Annual Cheese Curd Festival. You'll also see the Cheese Curd Festival banners adorning Main Street.
In Ellsworth, well-established enterprises thrive and new businesses abound in and near the village, while development opportunities exist: East End Industrial Park has 10 acres available and Crossing Meadows Business Park in the north has 13 acres. With an eye on the future, Ellsworth also continues to grow with several new housing, commercial, and senior housing developments. |
